Rekkles: Caps Would Fit Well in the LCK

I was surprised this interview with Rekkles wasn’t posted about more in the English-speaking media. So here’s this post!

Rather than going through everything, I’ll pick out particularly interesting facts.

Who Made the First Move?

He mentioned that Becker, T1’s General Manager, reached out to him in October. Other teams also contacted him, so joining T1’s CL team wasn’t his only option.

It might be important to note that, based on accounts from people who’ve watched Rekkles’ streams throughout the years, he has mentioned wanting to switch to support for quite a while now.

Does He Know Korean?

Rekkles said that learning Korean is his number one priority. Mastering the language would provide many opportunities in the future.

The Age Gap with Teammates

He prefers playing with younger teammates, and unlike in other regions, his current teammates put League first. Having League as a mutual interest/similarity means they can get along well.

Guwon (jungler) and Smash (ADC) speak the most English, and there’s a lot of communication with them.

Differences From Playing in Europe

There is a lot more conversation in Korea after games. Also talking while they eat. Overall, just more thoughts shared about the game.

Here, he singled out Caps, saying that the practice style in Korea would fit him well, since Caps also has League as his every waking thought.

There are two parts to the interview in Korean, here and here.
